Full server list: 24 countries ↓

F-Secure VPN comes from F-Secure, the Finnish security company founded in 1988. It was previously called FREEDOME, and the old app was retired in 2024. Since 2022 F-Secure has been a separate listed company for consumers, after its business arm became WithSecure.

The app offers 24 countries, with several cities in the US and Canada, and the standalone plan covers up to 5 devices. There’s no free plan, only a 30-day trial, and we found no published audit.

Documented incidents and legal tests. How a provider responded matters as much as what happened.

2022. F-Secure split its business and consumer arms. The business security side was renamed WithSecure, and the consumer business, including the VPN, became a separate company listed on Nasdaq Helsinki under the F-Secure name.

2024. The standalone FREEDOME VPN app reached end of life. New installations and renewals stopped in April 2024, and users were moved to the renamed F-Secure VPN app.
